Revise abstractions that need to be symmetric

Whilst doing #180, it turns out that a participant requires only a subset of the traits that the agent requires, hence we should revise and layer these.

As part of this ticket, we should update each and every public interface in the .NET library, e.g. ICategoryFunction, IDigest, so that each of these are crystal clear as to what they do.
