SessionManager does not use date bounds

ATM the session manager does not do anything with the date bounds that are supplied when the session is started. This became apparent as part of ticket #2. Although the external API was still left in tact (and passing in date params is a NOOP), this whole subject matter should get re-visited.

The SessionManager is now toast, so this is irrelevant.
