Animate Blob Trending

We need a visual cue to indicate when a blob is trending. This is particularly relevant when the UI is being run as a heads up display - see #247. This could be as simple as an animation to indicate that:
- A blob appears;
- A blob is growing or shrinking;
- When a blob has reached its maximum size (see #238), an increase in the underlying should be flagged up as well.

Also, the right-hand nav thing is a nice page overview as well - a 90 degree rotated version would be somewhat along the lines of what we'd been discussing.
